Best of the Best - December 29

Sorry about that, I had a busy day planned for last Friday and then forgot to post. Had to go to Tulsa to look and touch a couple of new lenses. I still don't know which lens to buy!

This is Kevin Steele's entry, "Arkansas Stream". He was in Class B last year but is moving up to Class A this year.

Jo Ann Godfrey's "Fire Weed", from the Class A division.

Cliff Moore's Class A entry "Taking a Break".

Here's an interesting website: http://www.noradsanta.org/en/home.html, now you can see when Santa's going to be at your home!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Best of the Best - December 22nd

Bill Stephens named this "Indian Paint Brush" and he is in Class A. Bill is the husband of Amy Stephens who is our Competition chairwoman. Amy collects all of the photos and then sends them to the judge of the month. Probably the biggest job in the club.

Aptly named, "Snow Dog" is Becky Carlton's entry in Class B. Becky is our vice-president for the 2nd year. She probably knows more about what should be done than me!

Best of the Best - December 22nd

Becky Carlton's entry "Foggy Train" was a hit with everyone in the club. Becky is in Class B.

"Reflection in the Window" is Rhnea Burcham Amiture's Class B entry. We don't get too many Black & Whites in the competitions and this was well done.

Best of the Best, day 5

Peggy Sharp has tropical fish, this is one of her favorites. Peggy is in Class B.

This photo was submitted by Vicki Lang, I think she is in Class B, but I've left the photos and the titles and info at the office. I wanted to make sure I got photos uploaded today.

Two for Class B, Best of the Best!

Margaret Brown is in Class B, this is her entry titled "Collecting Pollen". Margaret is the secretary-treasurer of our club and thankfully stayed on this year again. Thanks Margaret!

Kevin Steele named this one "Musician", he's in Class B. He has moved up to Class A this year after having compiled many wins throughout the last year.

More of the "Best of the Best"!

"Lessor spot-nosed Guenon" is what Cliff Moore presented in Class A. He took this at the Tulsa Zoo. The club was going to go one Saturday and for the life of me I can't remember why it was canceled at the last moment. Cliff didn't get the message and went anyway. Well, he got a winning photo out of it and we didn't!

"Holley" was Becky Carlton's entry in Class B. If you can't guess, she likes farm animals, or you will before the month is out. She won often and it definitely had a farm-ish/western trend. Becky is also our Vice-president of the club again this year. She handles the facebook and myspace pages for the club. Which for the life of me I don't know what they are, so go Google for us there!

'Best of the Best' Finally gets started!

"Cosmo" by Jo Ann Godfrey was submitted to the Class A pool.

You'll have to follow this blog all through the middle of next month to see all of the "Best of the Best 2008" photos. Realize that not everyone wanted their photos to be put online so this is the few that I have.

James Edwards submitted "Azaleas" in the Class A competition.

Herman Kirby is a Class B member, or should I say WAS. He moves up to Class A this next year. He named this "Yosemite".

Signs of the season!

"A Winter Freeze"! This was submitted by Rhnea Burcham Amiture. She is a new member of the club this year. It was submitted to the Shutterbug's Club October group. Funny how we had some of this kind of weather yesterday, not to this extent thank goodness!

Oops!

I love a parade. . . oh, sorry about last week. Too many irons in the fire and I still don't have the Best of the Best scanned in yet. Here is one of my photos that placed last year in the special competition of 'Broadway Street'. This was taken at the Azalea Festival in April.

The biggest thing I have going on besides my day job as a dentist, is putting together the Miss Rodeo USA Pageant Program. Not only do I layout the entire program, but I design ads for the different sponsors, design the front cover and then even design some of the ads for the contestants. If that isn't enough, I design 10 pages for them that go into the IPRA's International Finals Rodeo program too!

Best of the best!

The Christmas party meeting last night was a blast. Good food, fun people, and of course, lots of great photos. This months photos were from the "best of the best" our judge said. And he was right, they were the winners from last year, 71 in Class B, 74 in Class A with 28 slides.

Since I haven't had time to scan in all the photos that I have for this months viewing I'll start with one of my photos. I called it "Shadows" I took it while on the Scott Kelby Worldwide photowalk in Oklahoma City last September. This photo took 2nd place in Class B, and in so doing moved me up to Class A for the next year.

"Big Bully"

This photo was submitted by long time Shutterbug Club member, Jo Ann Godfrey. She's the outgoing 'Publicity' chairwoman. Her job is to make sure we get the winning photos each month into the newspaper. She named this "Big Bully".

Tonight is the annual Christmas party at the Library at 6 PM, bring your photos and finger food! Don't forget the FOOD!

Party Time!

This entry is by Vicki Lang, she hangs out in Class B and if memory serves me right she's a new member. She named this "Zoom"!

Tomorrow night is the annual Christmas party for the shutterbug club. We meet at 6 PM at the Muskogee Public Library. Bring some finger food, photos and come join the fun. The whole family is invited!

Herman Kirby who is in Class B named this simply "Red Flower".

Wide variety

This is "Meerkat" by Cliff Moore, one of the professional photographers in the group. Of course, he's in Class A. He likes to take his daughter to the Tulsa Zoo and take pictures.

"I don't like lemon, I wanted chocolate!" By Peggy Sharp, who is in Class B. Many years ago she worked for me as a dental assistant, got married and moved away. She's back now and runs her dad's "junk" store as she puts it.

Back to the Shutterbugs' Clubs photos

This was simply named "Portrait" by Herman Kirby who is in Class B.

How about "Rusted Dreams" by Vicki Lang who is in Class B also. It's my understanding that someone has started restoring this beauty.
